Daher is an equipment manufacturer that develops Integrated Industrial Systems for aerospace and advanced
By linking its know-how in industrial manufacturing, product and process engineering, logistics and transport, and industrial services, Daher designs and develops value-added solutions for its industrial partners, who benefit from this convergence of industry and services.
Daher has established itself as a leader in 5 fields of activity: aircraft
manufacturer, aerostructures and systems, integrated logistics, nuclear services, and valves.
Daher posts turnover of nearly a billion euros, and its order book stands at around three and a half years of turnover.
Driven by bold innovation ever since it was founded in 1863, Daher has established itself today as one of the major players of the 3rd industrial revolution.
Daher is the partner of the latest Airbus Helicopters aircraft: the H160.
For the H160, Daher is designing and manufacturing the helicopter tail structure, one of the flagship products in its Aerostructures & Systems product lines.
Daher's contribution to the H160 has represented a sizable challenge: that of combining weight reduction and aesthetic appeal, while delivering a high-quality project within the set deadlines. An aim that demanded and demonstrated all the innovation of the equipment supplier, which designs and manufactures the tail structure for this new aircraft at its Tarbes plant in France.
Made up of large composite structures, this equipped sub-assembly comprises a single piece that includes both the tail boom and fenestron.
"We are extremely pleased and proud to be contributing to the launch and success of this new helicopter by providing this highly innovative system. It shows off our skills in assembly and the use of composite materials
as part of a novel and future-facing program," explained Nicolas Orance, SVP Strategy and Development for Daher's Aerospace and Defense Division.
A long-term partnership with Airbus Helicopters
The H160 has strengthened what was already a close collaboration with Airbus Helicopters. In addition to the aerostructures provided under this program, Daher is the aerostructure partner for the Ecureuil (AS350),
EC130 T2, EC135, Super Puma, NH90 and Tigre, for which it supplies notably the tail boom, fenestron, cells, fairings and special products.
In addition, DAHER is the logistics partner for Airbus Helicopters' European plants, for which it provides logistics and industrial services, and acts as Lead Logistics Provider.
"A historic partner of Airbus Helicopters, we are happy to be participating in this new program, which stands for innovation and operational excellence. The Dauphin had a level of commercial success unprecedented in helicopter history, and we hope to have even greater success with its successor, the H160. This project also
strengthens an already close collaboration by showing off both our industrial and service-related skills,"
commented Stéphane Mayer, President & CEO of the Aerospace & Defense Division.
